Messages from Lawrence University and Bryn Mawr College (Research Papers & Writing)

The following message has came from Ramisha this morning. She emphasized the need for Reading and Writing for someone who is planning for College Life. Ramisha' s message is followed by two messages by 2016 class student Mayisha.

  • The reading and writing that I have done in the class has helped me in every assignment so far. The most important thing that I have noticed that good writings are always valuable everywhere, no matter what are you majoring in. My other 2 classes calculus and cognitive science are going well. I have joined few clubs here as well. I am currently working as the board member of the cognitive science club here. Everyday here is a challenge. However, I am learning and experiencing new things every second here and that is what I love most about Lawrence. I am going to have my finals in a few weeks. Hoping to do well in these exams. My calculus course is deeply focused on limits and differentiation. In the freshman studies we are reading and analyzing Plato, sweetness and Power, Native Guard and Bruegel’s painting. My intro to cognitive science is mainly focused on the philosophical and psychological part of our mind.
  • Here, in my college, you are truly encouraged to pursue whatever you want PROVIDED that you are willing to do substantial amount of reading and writing for almost all of your courses. I cannot thank you enough for making me do my 20-page analytical essay on "A Little Life" for writing huge amounts no longer scares me.
  • And finally, I stand firmly that in order to stand out from the rest of the crowd, one needs those Research Papers (required of Logophiles Students.)
