Tasks Assigned

The following students have been assigned tasks, which must be completed by this Friday (August 30th), by any means. 

Zakaria: Has been assigned with Essay writing (800 words). Will also work on "Philosophical Tales". We will work on SAT questions from our next class on Friday.  Let me know if you can arrive at 8.00 am on Friday. In that case, I can end the class at 11 am. 

Yusuf: Have been introduced with the idea of "Eternal Golden Braid" and MIT's introductory lecture. You have also been assigned with a personal statement based on your childhood to late-teen experience where you will talk about the difficulties of growing up. We will work on SAT questions from our next class on Friday.  Let me know if you can arrive at 8.00 am on Friday. In that case, I can end the class at 11 am. 

Lamia: You have been assigned with reading from "Philosophical Tales" - first 50+ pages. You should also work on a IELTS writing task. We will work on SAT questions from our next class on Friday.  Let me know if you can arrive at 8.00 am on Friday. In that case, I can end the class at 11 am.  

Sreya: Sreya, you should immediately contact me to get your assignments. 

Tamara: Have been assigned with GRE practice. You have submitted your first APPLICATION Essay in two parts. We shall work on this material this coming week. Our University selection is almost near complete. 

Ishmam: Have been asked to submit your first SOP draft. We should sit on a day to work through a FULL GRE test. 

Masud: You should immediately give a FULL Test to check your grade. We need to work on the 2nd draft of your SOP. 

Kayes: On Tuesday, we had EXTENSIVE discussion on your first draft. You have been instructed to work exclusively on the 3rd part of your SOP. First two parts should NOT be touched/improved on at this moment. Since I already have the first part of your SOP, I will be able to make some brush-up when you are done with the 3rd segment of your SOP. 

K's:  You will start your works from Saturday onwards. So for the time being, there is no task assigned. 

Resuming US Applications & SAT | GRE | IELTS classes

We the nation are going through an unprecedented moment of student uprising that Bangladesh has seen in the past 54 years. The amount of bloodshed we are witnessing among students and scale of atrocities by police and similar agencies will live in our memories till the last day of our lives. 

    Today our first responsibility is to the students' safety and fulfilment of their demands. However, at the same time we need to work towards a future where everyone will live with dignity. There is no other option but to continue our work as a learner, as an educator. 

    We were unable to continue all our classes because we felt that this is not the moment for learning. Now that the student movement has reached a stage of one-point-demand, we want to stay at home and resume of our works so that when we can keep some links with our remaining tasks. 

    Here are some instructions for the following groups. Some of you belong to more than one group and should prepare your works/tasks accordingly. 

1. US Admission Students: Please note that you need to start the Common Application (2024-2025) as that portal has been updated. Those who opened your account with the previous session, will be automatically sign in to the new edition. 
2. SAT preparation: It is important to remember that having high SAT score is crucial for good FINANCIAL aid. So, open your account with SAT's official test-site with Khan Academy. SAT applicants MUST also open account with Collegeboard.com
3. IELTS preparation: Since IELTS is needed for both undergrad and postgrad, please make sure that you have strong band.  
4. GRE preparation (MS/PhD students): It is important to keep me updated with your GRE preparation. High GRE score will ensure student assistanceship, which covers almost full tuition for most universities. We need to start on three additional things:
• SOP writing based on individual University instructions
• Letters of References - three letters may be needed. One or two from your professors and one from your Workplace. 
• Linkedin - must be updated and new posts may be added to your account. Be active.
• At least 2-3 papers should be uploaded on Academia.com.
• Postgrad students are strongly advised to open BLOG and add articles and short posts on different issues.
